Transition Penwith Benefit Party
Septmber 1st, 8.00pm at the Acorn Arts Centre, Penzance
The next Transition Penwith event is a Benefit Party, to be held on September 1st at 8pm at the Acorn Arts Centre in Penzance. This has been organised by Sarah Gale to raise much-needed funds for the organisation to continue its good work in the community. Transition Penwith relies on volunteer labour and has so far been funded entirely by its founder. Clearly this is an unsustainable situation, and we are seeking ways of raising money to finance future projects. To continue with the work of Transition, we need financial support from the local community, and we hope that you will be able to come to this Benefit Party as a way of showing your support.
NOTE: We urgently need volunteers on the evening to help with manning the doors, otherwise we will have to pay an additional £160 to the Acorn for security staff. 3 volunteers have stepped forward already (thank you!) but we really need 3 more to share the responsibility. If you can help out on the night, please contact Sarah on Tel: 01736 732535 or email: sarahgale [at] cooptel [dot] net
Three Daft Monkeys - Cornwall's very own, featuring world influenced acoustic music, with rousing vocals, frenetic fiddling, rhythmical 12-string guitar, dancing bass, and foot drum. Supported by The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists, and Etha Tone. DJs Indian Billy and DJ Dreckly (aka) Richard Venning will also be playing downstairs.
Please come along and show your support!
Tickets cost £5 in advance, £6 on the door, and are available from the Acorn Arts Centre.
